Integrated Marketing Manager - Paleontological Research Institution (PRI)


The Paleontological Research Institution (PRI) is seeking an enthusiastic candidate for the role of Integrated Marketing Manager.  

e Integrated Marketing Manager will report to the Associate Director for Philanthropy and will take a lead role in developing strategic integrated marketing programs that leverage traditional and digital media to support all external communication needs of the organization.  

This new position will have a strong emphasis on designing and implementing a digital communication strategy for the entire organization. It is also responsible for all aspects of marketing project management, setting project management schedules, including media planning and placement, design and production of materials, deliverables, and reviews for multiple parties internal to and external to PRI, and ensuring that campaigns remain on track to meet strategic objectives. Inter- and cross-departmental collaboration, and external relationship management with media partners, vendors, agencies, and designers is integral to this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Marketing Planning and Implementation

  • Lead marketing project management including overall strategy, content creation, and implementation for print, radio, and digital marketing efforts. 
  • Oversee the development of a digital communications strategy and, in cooperation with other departments, and its implementation through digital marketing, e-mail and e-newsletter campaigns, social media, websites. 
  • Manage distribution lists for email, press releases, event calendars and other marketing campaigns.  
  • Develop and monitor marketing budget/expenses. 
  • Oversee the planning and development of SEO/SEM strategies including working with outside consultants. 
  • Work in concert with other departments such as, Membership, Visitor Services, Development, and Education to assess audience and visitor data and develop engagement, resource allocation, and revenue generating strategies based on these. 
  • Photograph museum/nature center activities and events as needed for advertising and public relations.

Brand Management 
  • Develop clear branding guidelines to be used across the institution and update and evolve the brand as needed. 
  • Maintain Museum brand guidelines and strategies for and with both internal and external team members. Ensure delivery of a consistent identity and message based on the mission across all mediums, digital, print, etc. 

Content Creation and Design 

  • Design, or coordinate/oversee the design of all PRI marketing materials. 
  • Create and develop engaging content for social media pages, and websites. 

Development & Community Impact 

  • Assist as needed with fundraising and community impact initiatives, primarily in designing/producing fundraising collateral and assisting with communications efforts. 

Supervisory Responsibilities 

  • This position may supervise volunteers and interns. 


Qualifications and Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree  
  • 2-5 years of marketing, advertising, graphic design and coordination experience 
  • Passionate about current design trends and practices. Able to bring ideas to life through cutting-edge and modern design concepts. 
  • Strong verbal and written communications and project management skills and the ability to meet multiple deadlines. 
  • Knowledge of digital marketing tactics including social media, SEO, and SEM. 
  • Self-motivated and resourceful with the ability to work independently. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills: Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with staff, members, vendors, volunteers and supporters. 
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator), Microsoft Office Suite, and GSuite. 
  • Nonprofit or cultural institution experience a plus, as is a love of nature and science.
