Located just 30 minutes south of Portland in Wilsonville, Oregon, the World of Speed Museum is a new kind of nonprofit entertainment and educational experience that focuses on racing and performance vehicles of all kinds.  The museum encompasses many aspects of motorsports, including drag racing, road racing, land speed racing, motorcycle racing, open wheel, NASCAR and hydroplanes.  And with educational programs that encourage kids, teens and adults to become involved in the motorsports industry, the museum provides a rich learning environment based on a STEM and career-technical approach that inspires and educates.  Housed in a one-of-a-kind custom retro-fitted car dealership, World of Speed embraces the nostalgic past of motorsports and highlights todays exciting trends, while utilizing cutting edge technology to chronical and tell the story of this diverse and widely appealing industry.  And World of Speed is training and mentoring the next generation of skilled auto technicians, with many of its programs providing college level credits and a potential career track for young car enthusiasts.  It is a gathering place for the community and a hub for the motorsports world, with a growing reputation as one of the most unique and well-planned museums of its kind.  World of Speed is not only Oregon’s newest tourist destination; it is also an exciting career destination.



At World of Speed, it is our mission to provide education and entertainment through the celebration and preservation of motorsports. The Development Director is responsible for leading and enhancing development efforts and operations in order to support the mission of the museum. This position will oversee all aspects of the Museum’s development programs including annual funds, sponsorships, membership, special events, planned giving programs, corporate fundraising, donor stewardship, grant applications, budgets and strategic planning. Additionally the Development Director is responsible for establishing and building key relationships and contacts in corporate communities in order to meet revenue goals. World of Speed’s ideal candidate will exhibit strong leadership skills within a collaborative environment, supporting a young organization with a management team that assists each other as necessary.
