Your responsibilities will include: assist with various collection care tasks such as museum registration, cataloguing, inventorying, photographing, rehousing of historic photos and documents in archival materials, data entry of collections information, and creating exhibits related to Pinchot family interests, (75%); provide historic housekeeping and minor conservation of artifacts such as documents, paintings, sculpture, books and furniture, (15%); assist with public tours of house and gardens, (10%). Your office will be in a historic house setting as well as in off-site storage buildings.

(Desired) Intern has experience with Past Perfect Software and prior museum collections cataloguing.

    Location Description
    Grey Towers is located in Milford, Pike County, on the eastern slope of the Pocono Mountain range of northeastern Pennsylvania. It is approximately 10 miles southwest of the point where the state boundaries of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York meet, situated on 102 acres overlooking the Delaware River Valley and Kittatinny Mountains.
    Training Provided
    Historic museum sensitivity, cataloguing and registration methods, defensive driving, CPR/First Aid. Grey Towers is also a conference and training center for conservation and environmental issues.
    Educational/Recreational Opportunities
    Opportunity to visit 3 major cities for sightseeing — Boston, New York and Philadelphia which are close by. The Delaware River also provides many recreation opportunities.
